A Southern Cure for the Common Cold

Wild Turkey American Honey Bourbon Liqueur is perfect for a Southern hot toddy!

The chief ingredient in a Southern Hot Toddy

I recently found myself suffering from a terrible cold. After several days of added misery from the side effects of over-the-counter cold medicines, I found a better way to get relief: The Southern Hot Toddy.

Southern Hot Toddy Recipe

  • 1 1/2 oz Wild Turkey American Honey Bourbon Liqueur
  • 1/4 oz lemon juice
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 lemon slice
  • 3-4 whole cloves
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • 4 oz hot water

Pour the Wild Turkey Liqueur and lemon juice into a large coffee mug. Spear the cloves into the rind of lemon slice and drop into mixture followed by the cinnamon stick and nutmeg. Pour the hot water over the spices and allow the drink to steep for a few minutes.

Traditional hot toddies contain honey, but because the Wild Turkey Liqueur is made with American Honey, there’s no need to add extra. Grab your Snuggie and curl up in your favorite comfy spot to fight your cold with the pain-killing deliciousnous that only Kentucky Bourbon has to offer.
